UAL Level 3 Extended Games Design and Development
Project Title
FMP

Section 1: Review (Approx 150 words)
My FMP is a game on Construct called A Shaman’s Quest it is about a young man who goes out on a quest to seek out whatever is bringing him down holding him back. But while he’s out there, he finds himself going through several physical and spiritual changes. I am hoping to at least make a four level game with challenges throughout and that can probably teach people a bit about Native American culture. I have learned quite a bit about Native American culture myself so far and what I have learned has inspired some creativity in my work.

Section 2: Project Concept (Approx 250 words)
The idea for my FMP partly came from my fondness of wolves, I know for my FMP I am going to do something wolf related and in native American culture the wolf is considered a teacher, and my game should kind of teach players about native Americans. In fact, a wolf will be the first thing you become. I am going to research into Totem animals and what each one means and then find a way to put that into my game. I am hoping to meet with two native Americans to learn more and hopefully get some useful information.

Section 3: Evaluation (Approx 100 words)
I am going to first do some initial sketches on paper of possible animals I could use in my game. Such as a wolf, a snake, a buffalo, an owl etc. Then I intend to draw some on Photoshop and then put them in the game. I will make the game on Construct 2 and it will be a 2D side-scroller plat former, adventure game.

Once my game is completed, I intended to play through it several times as I go to make sure that it is working the way I am happy with it and keep doing that with each level of the game. When the game is finished I would like to add some kind of music to make it seem like a proper computer game. If I encounter any issues I shall type them onto my blog and try as many times as it takes to solve them, and I will add how I solved them to the blog as well as everything else I do whilst making the game.
